British Values

The five British Values are:
  • Democracy.
  • The rule of law.
  • Individual liberty.
  • Mutual respect.
  • Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.

Through our rights-based curriculum, we teach pupils about British Values and protected characteristics as part of their learning journey. This is embedded across:

  • Curriculum lessons
  • Whole-school assemblies
  • Rights Respecting meetings
  • Educational trips and visits

We ensure pupils understand how British Values—such as democracy, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance—enhance and protect the rights of others. This helps them develop respect, empathy, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
